Solid waste treatment

Objectives:

From 2020 to 2025.

– Collect and treat 95% of the total amount of urban household solid waste, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 95% of the total amount of non-hazardous industrial solid waste and 100% of hazardous solid waste, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 100% of non-hazardous and hazardous medical solid waste, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 80% of solid waste generated in rural residential areas and craft villages, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 98% of the total amount of urban household solid waste, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 98% of the total amount of industrial solid waste, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 100% of non-hazardous and hazardous medical waste generated at healthcare facilities and hospitals, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 90% of solid waste generated in rural residential areas, ensuring environmental protection.

Vision from 2030 to 2050.

– Collect and treat 100% of the total amount of urban household solid waste, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 100% of the total amount of industrial solid waste, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 100% of non-hazardous and hazardous medical waste generated at healthcare facilities and hospitals, ensuring environmental protection.

– Collect and treat 96% of solid waste generated in rural residential areas, ensuring environmental protection.

– Estimate the total amount of solid waste generated, determine the classification, collection, and transportation methods of solid waste; identify solid waste treatment facilities and the scope of service to meet the demand for solid waste treatment in the entire province.

– Improve the overall efficiency of solid waste management, prevent and minimize waste generation at the source, enhance reuse and recycling to minimize the amount of waste that needs to be landfilled.

Forecast of the source and amount of waste by 2030.

The total amount of solid waste in Vinh Phuc province is estimated to be 2,609.19 tons/day by 2030. The amount of solid waste collected is about 2,434.01 tons per day, including:

– Household solid waste: about 1,446.99 tons per day.

– Industrial solid waste: about 1,154.87 tons per day.

– Medical solid waste: about 7.32 tons per day.
