Investment promotion activities of Vinh Phuc delegation in NewZealand
To implement the provincial investment promotion program in 2014, from November 30 to December 12, 2014 Vinh Phuc delegation led by Mrs. Duong Thi Tuyen – Member of provincial Standing Committee, also Vice Chairman of People’s Committee organising the investment promotion activities in New Zealand and Australia.
New Zealand and Australia are two developed countries in Oceania located in the southern hemisphere, the economy based on the pillar is to exploit the advantages of natural conditions such as mining, farming, livestock, marine associated with the development of science and technology, the types of services and advanced management level. Vinh Phuc is opening direction into Oceanian countries to attract the project on high-tech agriculture farming (safety fruit and vegetable), livestock (dairy), the processing of agricultural, forestry and fishery to restructure the agricultural development of the province, and New Zealand and Australia are also two countries which have developed education at a high level, Vinh Phuc should utilize to develop human resources to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization.
On the morning of December 02, 2014, Vinh Phuc’s delegation visited and worked with the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and Industry – New Zealand (Auckland CCI). Attending the meeting included Mr. Nguyen Kim Phuong – Commercial Counsellor of the Vietnam Embassy in New Zealand. Mr. Michael Barnett, Chairman Auckland CCI hosted and worked with delegation, and introduced on the highlighting country of New Zealand and the main duties and results of Auckland CCI in the recent time.
New Zealand is made up of two large islands (North and South) and one small island strip located in the South Pacific Ocean, away 1,600 km from Australia to the southeast. North Island has the Wellington capital and the South Island has city of Christ Church which has known for a long mountain range running the length of the island, creating a beautiful landscape. New Zealand has an area of 268,700 km2 and a population in 2014 was 4509 thousand people. Economic Scale was a GDP of US $ 128.5 billion, per capita $ 28,800. In 2013 New Zealand export of US $ 37.730 billion and imports reached US $ 35.650. Agriculture and fisheries development, but only accounted for 4.8%, and 24.6% in industry and 70.6% in services (mainly tourism). As a multi-ethnic nation (86 different ethnic groups came mainly from Europe and Asia), New Zealand was rich diversity in culture. New Zealand has a temperate climate with wet in winters, dry and warm in summer, the average temperature from 70C to 160C, the highest summer temperature of about 250C, so most of the New Zealand country always covered with green grass, healthy living environment, attracting tourists to visit.
Auckland city is located in the north of the North Island, an area of 1,086 km2 and a population of 1.5 million people. This is a port city – “City of Sails” with its beautiful beaches, wooden houses, Bay dotted with yachts and sail, lush natural forests and busy urban centres creating typical point for Auckland. Located squeezed through wide strip of land of 11 km, divided into two ports: Waitermata and Manuka port. City filled fun and excitement atmosphere, the operation of the pier, restaurants, busiest day and night services. Ackland contribute to New Zealand’s GDP by 35%, the amount of cargo through the port of Auckland accounted for 30%, and 85% by air from New Zealand.
Auckland CCI is based in Level 3, 100 Mayoral Driver, Auckland was established in 1856, CCI Auckland always works closely with businesses, create linkages for closely and sustainable development, especially support and cooperation to jointly grow. Auckland CCI is an association supported by the city government having branches operating under the sectors, is responsible for supporting businesses on investment and trade in the Auckland local; connecting enterprises in business production operations; organizing seminars, conferences clients, promote domestic and foreign investment, support businesses promoting their products and provide information via the Internet, … At the meeting, Mrs. Duong Thi Tuyen – Head of Vinh Phuc’s delegation has introduced the provincial social economic highlights and desire Auckland CCI will be a bridge to connect the Auckland enterprises to study and explore opportunities for collaboration with Vinh Phuc Province, Vietnam in investment, trade, sharing experience in managing agricultural development towards modernization. Working with teams of Vinh Phuc, Chairman Auckland CCI shared experiences in developing a model of economic development of New Zealnd, especially economic cooperatives in agriculture as the dairy Group, simultaneously expressed willingness to long-term cooperation with Vinh Phuc Province, Vietnam.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited and worked with Fonterra dairy Company at Fonterra the Center, 9 Princes Street, Aukcland 1010; Visit a Dairy Cow Farm away 30 km from headquarters. Mr. Dave Christie, Asean Branch Manager/ MENA hosted and worked with mission. The representative of this Group said that New Zealand has about 4 million dairy cows, the form of livestock grazing in the natural meadow, non-food industrial use, so New Zealand dairy cow has highest nutrition content of the world. New Zealand has 76 dairy processing factories and distribution branches in over 100 countries around the world, the value of exports dairy accounted for 20% of total export value of New Zealand. Output of milk production in New Zealand exports to foreign countries 95%, domestic consumption is only 5%, the current output of New Zealand dairy cows account for 30% of global milk production. The highest milk production in dairy cows in 01 days is 275 liters per day, annual average of 4,100 liters per year. The organizational model of the dairy Fonterra Group was economic cooperation, with 1,500 shareholders as owners of the farm. Meeting of shareholders to elect 35 representatives, and then elected 13 leaders to manage the Group. Milk production has produced by dairy Fonterra company of 21 billion liters, with 18 liters of production in the country, 3 billion liters of production abroad.
Visit a dairy factory and a typical dairy farm of the Group, Vinh Phuc delegation was impressed with the management methods, processes livestock, dairy, raw milk supply for processing plants, milk processing of Dairy Fonterra Company. Dairy farming owner is an engineer, and directly involved in the production process. The farm is 450 cows; the farm is an area of 150 ha, but only 4 employees, due to the application of science and technology in all stages of production. The farm is very interested in environmental protection, waste of cows in terms of large-scale farming. Integrated production Organization and management model of Dairy Fonterra Company should be applied for Vinh Phuc province, especially the change from small-scale to large-scale centralized, supply feed, disease control, purchasing milk shipped directly from the farm to the milk processing factory. /.
