Vinh Phuc & Italy’s Toscana region to boost cooperation

Northern Vinh Phuc province has signed an MoU on cooperation with the Toscana region of Italy.

The MoU was inked by Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee,  Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council,  and Head of the province’s National Assembly Delegation,  and Chairman of the Toscana Region Eugenio Giani in Florence on July 28.

The two sides will boost cooperation in investment attraction, trade promotion, education and training, healthcare, culture, tourism and sports, urban planning, agriculture, high technology, and environmental protection.

They will also increase the exchange of delegations from local authorities, experts, businesses, and investors.

Later on the same day, Ms. Lan granted an investment certificate to the Piaggio Group to expand the operations of Piaggio Vietnam in Vinh Phuc province.

The scooter icon will increase production capacity from 250,000 to 400,000 units a year, while engine production will rise to 400,000 units annually, from 300,000.

Its total investment in Vinh Phuc province increases from $75 million to $165 million as a result.
