Investment promotional activities of Vinh Phuc province in the Czech Republic

On November 18th- 20th,2014, Investment promotional trip of Vinh Phuc province led by Mr. Phung Quang Hung – Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Vinh Phuc People’s Committee organized investment promotion activities in the Czech republic.

Mr. Phung Quang Hung - Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Vinh Phuc People’s Committee worked with Vietnamese’s Association and Business in the Czech Republic.

On November 19th,2014, the delegation worked with Vietnamese’s Association and Business in the Czech Republic. Working with Vinh Phuc’s delegation includes Chairman of Vietnamese Association – Hoang Dinh Thang and Representatives; Members of Business Association in the Czech Republic. On behalf of delegation, Mr. Phung Quang Hung – Head of mission was briefed on social economic situation of Vinh Phuc province in the last time and He also suggested Vietnamese Association and Business in the Czech Republic concerned and created the favourable conditions for enterprises from Czech Republic as well as Vietnamese overseas to study environment and investment opportunities in Vinh Phuc province.

Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic is one of the Vietnamese overseas has traditional and depth achievements. Spreading over 15 years operation until now the Association has increasing growth, opened up dozens of local associations and other members of Congress. This has important implications in the unity that brings together the community, help people stabilize their lives, integration into society and contribute positively to the Czech Republic. Therefore, the Czech government has officially recognized Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic as minorities 14th of the Czech Republic, is recognized by Czech government on the integration capabilities and positive contributions of the Vietnamese community for Czech society. Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic has become a strong civil society, unified from central to local, attracted the participation of crowded  Vietnamese community in a spirit of solidarity; integration into the host society and always sticking to their homeland. Currently the Association has 28 member including Business Association; Youth and students Union; Women Union; Buddhist Association; Literature and Art Association; Association of labour brokers; sport clubs, martial arts; Association of fellow countryman and 48 branches in the whole Czech Republic with the Executive Committee consists of 96 members.

Mr.Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of Vietnamese Association in Czech Republic has expressed delighted to welcome Vinh Phuc’s investment promotional delegation in Prague capital of Czech Republic. Thang was briefed on the process of formation and development of the Vietnamese Association of Czech and desire Vinh Phuc province and Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic will keep in contact and connect more regularly in coming time  so as to achieve organizational coordination of trade promotional activities; organization of conferences between Vinh Phuc with Czech enterprises and authorities of the Czech Republic, as well as information about the investment climate and business of Vinh Phuc province for businesses, Czech Republic investors.

On the morning of November 20th,2014, the province’s investment promotional delegation visited and worked with the Vietnam Embassy in the Czech Republic, The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Truong Manh Son informed of the situation friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic last time, the Ambassador stressed, Vinh Phuc should push to attract investors from the Czech Republic, not only in the field of industrial production, machinery but also in field produced dairy products, crystal glassware, medicine … that Czech Republic has great potential.

Diplomatic relations between the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Czechoslovakia was established on February2, 1950. The representative of Czechoslovakia in Hanoi has officially launched operations on December 30, 1954 after one year; Vietnam Embassy in Prague was opened. In 1956, the collaboration began developing powerful, in addition to also have training for Vietnamese specialist in Czechoslovakia, primarily for mechanical engineering and light industry.

The agreements were signed during the period of 1973, 1974, 1979 and 1980 have created conditions for large amounts of workers, vocational students, students and trainees to learn. In the first half of the 80s, the number of citizens of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Czechoslovakia is about 30 000. The second half of the 80s, this number decreases gradually, by 1990, the treaty between the two countries ended. Although the politic was changes in Eastern Europe at the end and beginning of the 80s and 90s, the Czech-Vietnamese relations are not interrupted and the change in economic conditions in Czechoslovakia was created conditions for Vietnamese to do business. Thus, in Czechoslovakia had many Vietnamese from the German Democratic Republic, and from other countries of the former socialist bloc to settle. In the Czech Republic, there are now a number of organizations of Vietnam (Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, Vietnamese Association of entrepreneurs and Czech Republic citizens association speaking Vietnamese). Czech Republic is a member of the International Association of helping developing countries; in the framework of this association Czech Republic cooperate closely with other international organizations such as UNDP (United Nation Development Organization),The World Bank and other international organizations. Czech Republic is the only country of the former Eastern European countries; even in the most difficult moment was converting economy helping Vietnam for the non-refundable aid. A number of projects in Vietnam with the support of the Czech such as construction and put into operation orthopaedic centre and  rehabilitation in Thai Nguyen, modernizing medical equipment for hospitals Vietnam- Czechs in Haiphong, searching, researching handling clean water for the province of Nghe An.

Currently, Czech Republic exports to Vietnam were mainly machinery, dairy products, crystal glassware, medicines etc. Goods imported from Vietnam mainly exported to the EU, such as footwear, garments, coffee and other household appliances … Vietnam export was mainly agricultural, food, garments Clothing and imported machinery and equipment, glass, medicines. However, turnover is still low compared to the potential and Vietnam is always a surplus, the Czech Republic want to strengthen the balance for export to import goods.

On behalf of the Vinh Phuc delegation, Mr. Phung Quang Hung thank the Vietnam Embassy in the Czech Republic and ambassador in personal has supported to Vinh Phuc province in the last time to implement of the provincial investment promotional trip in the Czech Republic and also desired the Vietnam Embassy in the Czech continued to support Vinh Phuc province in attracting investment and creating favourable conditions for organizations and individuals from Vinh Phuc province to Czech Republic for studying and working.

During the working time in Russia Federation, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, members of the delegation of the province are well implemented regulations on foreign affairs, as well as strict adherence to the other provisions of the state while working abroad.

On afternoon of November 20,2014,  members of the Vinh Phuc delegation  came back to Vietnam, ending successfully  investment promotional trip in 2014 in four countries of the Russian Federation, the Kingdom of Denmark , Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
