Compal Electronic Group (Taiwan) continues to invest in Vinh Phuc

Since 2007, Compal Group (Taiwan) has been granted Investment Certificate by Vinh Phuc province for two projects: Infrastructure business investment project of BaThien Industrial zone with registered capital $76,59 US, an area of 327 ha in Binh Xuyen district; Production project of laptop with registered capital 500 US million and a capacity of 24 million units per year at Ba Thien industrial zone. However, because of shrink in computer market in the recent year, Compal Group has shifted to producing Smartphone, tablets (Ipad) for the world’s leading brands; besides, Compal Group also produced television, electronic component for cars. So both projects of Compal Group has not implemented on schedule as the promise with province.

At the meeting, Mr. Bruce Riggs thank the attention and create conditions of Vinh Phuc province for Compal Group in the recent time and confirmed that Compal invest officially project of Smartphone manufacture in Vinh Phuc province. Compal will use the latest technology in the manufacturing of products for this project. Details about project will be provided by Compal Group in profile so as to send for the competent authorities in the shortest time. Mr. Bruce Riggs said that Compal Group will promptly implement procedure prescribed by the law of Vietnam, he also expected to the attention and maximum support from province as well as Ministries of Vietnam to put it into production immediately in 2015.

The province asked the question: What is the main reason why Compal Group decided to invest this project in Vinh Phuc? Mr. Bruce Riggs said that the information has been published in the press conference in March, 2015. On the basis of business production results in the first quarter of 2015, Smartphone production and tablets of the Company had reached growth of 2 digits. On the other hand, Compal had available manufacturer of laptops production, just renovated production lines are switched to producing of Smartphone. Moreover Vinh Phuc province possessed good investment environment and convenient transportation infrastructure.

By the ending of the meeting, Vice – Chairman of Vinh Phuc People’s Committee Vu Chi Giang applauded the Compal Group continues to invest in Vinh Phuc province and confirmed Vinh Phuc province always work closely with enterprises. At the meeting, Vice-Chairman Vu Chi Giang has instructed the relevant agencies to actively support, creating the most favorable conditions for Compal Group to operate soon, bringing Smartphone production project into operation in 2015.
