Vinh Phuc province attending Belarus – Vietnam Business Forum 2013 in Minsk, Belarus

On the morning of September 11th, 2013, Vinh Phuc’s investment promotion delegation led by Mr. Pham Van Vong – Member of the Central Committee of Communist Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council attended Belarus – Vietnam Business Forum 2013 which was held in Minsk – the capital of the Republic of Belarus.

Mr. Pham Van Vong – the Member of the Central Committee of Communist Party, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum the Chairman of Vinh Phuc People’s Council delivered a speech at Belarus – Vietnam Business Forum held in Minsk, Belarus.

Mr. Vu Huy Hoang – the Member of the Central Committee of Communist Party, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Commerce and Mr. Dmitry Katerinich – Belarusian Minister of Industry co-chaired the Forum. Attending the Forum, there were also comrades including Mr. Ha Hoa Binh – the Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Board, Vice-chairman of Vinh Phuc People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung – the Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Board, Chief of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee; Mr. Phung Sy Tan – the Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Board, the Provincial Military Commander and a number of leaders of Vinh Phuc’s departments. The Forum attracted the participation of nearly 200 representatives from Belarusian and Vietnamese organizations and businesses.

Belarus is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, bordered by Russia in the north and east, Ukraine in the south, Poland in the west and Latvia in the north. Belarus has total land area of 207,595 km2 and population of nearly 9.5 million of people (in 2013). The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Belarus reached 60.9 billion dollars in 2012 with per capita of 21 thousand dollars per annum. Agriculture and fabricating industry are considered two prominent sectors of this country. With respect to the fabricating industry, Belarus possesses great potential in the field of high technology, manufacturing agro – industrial machinery, producing fertilizer, metallurgy, constructing transport infrastructure, etc. Regarding Vietnam’s industrial products, textile, leather footwear, electronics-computer, furniture, aquatic products are the ones with strengths. At the Forum, both sides emphasized that Vietnam and Belarus has had a long time friendship in their cooperation that is towards the long term and strategic one, and expected that businesses of two countries should positively study the feasibility of joint projects in two countries’ territories, especially in fields with high demand in markets namely Vietnam’s milk processing and Belarus’ wood processing.

In Vinh Phuc province, Vietnam, possible products to export to Europe including Belarus are automobile accessories, electronic components, textile and garment, building materials and agricultural products. Attending the Forum provided an opportunity for Vinh Phuc to introduce its potentials, strengths, business-investment climate and polices on direct investment in the province.

At Belarus – Vietnam Business Forum 2013, numerous Belarusian investors concerned and learned about business-investment climate and opportunities in Vinh Phuc province, Vietnam.

Soon after closing the Forum, Belarusian and Vietnamese businesses organized commercial transactions on the afternoon of September 11th, 2013. At the same time, Vinh Phuc’s delegation enlisted to access to Belarusian investors and businesses to introduce about business-investment climate and opportunities in Vinh Phuc. A number of Belarusian investors took great interest in Vinh Phuc province, such as Belaz-Holding company specializing in manufacturing construction machinery, Kalinka Textile Joint Stock Company, Brest Association of industry and trade zone, the National bank of the Republic of Belarus, etc. The representatives of Belarusian businesses raised a number of questions about Vinh Phuc’s strengths and principal products, consumption demand of products with Belarus’ origin, investment support and incentive, ability of supplying staffs knowing Russian for Belarusian business on investing in Vinh Phuc as well as to work in Belarus, etc. The province’s investment promotion delegation thoroughly explained and answered their problems, also, provided Belarusian investors with Vinh Phuc’s information by printed matter, DVD and e-files.
