Investment promotion activities of Vinh Phuc Province in Netherlands
As a part of the Russia – Europe 2014 investment promotion trip, the Vinh Phuc delegation, led by Mr. Phung Quang Hung – Deputy Secretary of Vinh Phuc Party Committee cum Chairman of Vinh Phuc People’s Committee, visited and worked with some enterprises and Vietnamese Embassy in Netherlands on 14 November 2014.
At the morning of 17 November 2014, the Delegation worked with Mr. Co De Heus, CEO of De Heus Group in Netherlands Union. De Heus Group is an internationally operating company in animal feed, which was founded in 1911 in the Netherlands and awarded by the Queen of Netherland. Its total production is approximately 4.6 million tons of animal feed per year, including an output of about 02 million tons per year by 08 plants in Netherlands. De Heus Group has invested 04 animal feed plants in Vietnam, including the plant in Binh Xuyen Industrial Zone of Vinh Phuc Province with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons and an investment capital of US$ 30 million which has been under construction. The CEO thanked Vinh Phuc Province for all of its supports and preferential to De Heus Group in the course of land lease and in the implementation of relating administrative procedures. The project has been on schedule and will being inaugurated on 03 January 2015. During its operation, De Heus Group always associates with farmers, actively supports, advises, transfers technology to farmers in the production process and identifies farmers as strategic partners for development.
Chairman Phung Quang Hung thanked the Group for locating its project in Vinh Phuc Provine as a reliable place to invest. He expected the Group to provide technical assistance to Vinh Phuc’s farmers in breeding process, facilitating the agricultural restructuring process and developing the breeding of pigs, dairy, livestock and poultry in the province. He also committed that Vinh Phuc Province would continue creating favorable conditions for the Group doing business effectively in the province. It is expected that the Group would introduce Vinh Phuc’s investment policies and climate to other enterprises in Netherlands as a bridge connecting the enterprises to Vinh Phuc Province.
In the afternoon, the Delegation worked with HortiKnowledgeCenter and Demokwekerij Westland and later visited its practical research compartments and technical demonstration area. The reception delegation included CEO of Demokwekerij Westland and HortiKnowledgeCenter and Mr. Henk van Eijk – Director of Kenlog B.V.
Demokwekerij Westland and HortiKnowledgeCenter were established in 2001 as a leading innovation centre in greenhouse horticulture technology. Its main activity is to coordinate and associate with machinery and equipment manufacturers or the technical solutions, processes and innovation suppliers within the horticulture. It makes room for the suppliers and scientists to demonstrate their technical horticulture equipment, machinery and processes and facilitated the contact between the agricultural producers, growers and farmers. It operates as a link between the s technical suppliers and growers and functions as a platform for applying high-tech innovations to agricultural production. It also deeply involves in research and invention of horticulture technical process in varied and wide range of plants, such as tulips, tomatoes,ect., and give pupils and students the facility to practice and learn horticulture sector. The company has In-house Knowledge Center to offer extra knowledge about growing crops and national and international diverse education, practice days and short-term training programs where it can welcome big groups of growers to learn agriculture (farming) techniques and innovative horticulture application. Currently, Demokwekerij has cooperated with Dong Thap’s Government to construct a High-tech Agriculture and Horticulture (practical research) Centre in Dong Thap Province.
After the meeting, the Delegation visited practical research greenhouse for growing tomatoes, the flowers, ect, and saw at firsthand all agricultural equipments and machinery in demonstration area.
Chairman Phung Quang Hung expressed his appreciation to the development of high-tech agriculture and horticulture in Netherlands and the company’s operations which is mode of agricultural extension by private company. During the visit, he strongly proposed the company to visit Vinh Phuc Province for surveying and considering a high-tech agriculture and horticulture project in Vinh Phuc Province. For its part, Vinh Phuc’ Government would be willing to offer an available land lot and the highest incentives to the company so that its project could be successfully invested by itself or by cooperating with other Vietnamese organizations or enterprises appointed by Vinh Phuc’s Government. Thanks to the project, the Vinh Phuc’s farmers and growers would have chance to gradually approach to high-tech agriculture and horticulture, changing their awareness and methods of agricultural production. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will directly contact and working with the company to schedule for studying and reaching to cooperation agreement in appropriate form.
On the previous day, 16 November 2014, the Delegation had also taken a tour to a number of major dike and irrigation construction in the Netherlands in order to find out appropriate solution/strategy for Vinh Phuc’s irrigation and flood control system.
At the end of the afternoon of 17 November 2014, the Chairman Phung Quang Hung and the Delegation had a working visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands. The Ambassador Nguyen Van Doan highly appreciated the so-economic development and achievements – of Vinh Phuc province. He promised to create the best conditions for Vinh Phuc’s Government introducing its investment climate and connecting to the enterprises in Netherlands for calling for investment in the province.
After the business travel to Netherlands and on the way to Czech Republic as scheduled, the Delegation dropped by Berlin (Federal Republic of Germany) at the afternoon of 19 November 2014 and had an intimate meeting with some Vietnamese businessmen at Dong Xuan Trade Center. The host of this meeting is Mr. Luong Dinh Can – Chairman of Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc Association of Fellow-countrymen in Germany cum Owner of Dong Xuan Trade Center. In discussion, Mr. Luong Dinh Can agreed to assist Vinh Phuc in exporting 200 employees to German for vocational training and practicing as a nurse. The Chairman Phung Quang Hung thanked the Association of Fellow-countrymen for their esteem welcome and their love for the homeland./.
