Vinh Phuc participate in the project to improve and enhance the linkages for small and medium enterprises (LinkSME)

During the two days from December 3rd to 4th 2020, the Northern Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center, under agency for Enterprise Development, Ministry of Panning and Investment, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized a training course on “Promoting reform and enhancing linkages of small and medium enterprises”. LinkSME, a technical assistance project funded by USAID will be implemented in 5 years with a total budget of 22.1 million USD.

In order to improve the business environment, the USAID LinkSME project focuses on the following activities: promoting institutional reform, streamlining regulations and administrative procedures, reducing compliance costs, enhancing competitiveness of SMEs; improving the government-to-business interaction, facilitating investment in SMEs, and enhancing business linkages and integration between SMEs and international supply chains sourcing in Vietnam in close collaboration with business support organizations; building the capacity of Vietnamese SMEs to participate in lead firm supply chains across all sectors, including electronics, metals, textiles, apparel, agribusiness and food processing, etc..

After attending the training session, participants of the Vinh Phuc Planning and Investment Department gained a lot of valuable knowledge on: Capacity building to promote business linkages between Vietnamese SMEs and lead firm supply chains sourcing in Vietnam; methods of supporting businesses to participate in the hard supply chain and raise their voice to the legal reform process; ways to develop products and services for member businesses to improve the business model and promote the sustainable development of the organization.

Besides gaining the professional knowledge of the project, participants from the Department of Planning and Investment also learned soft skills such as communication, negotiation and presentation skills, etc. along with practical exercises related to skills at training sessions. During this training session, participants of the Department actively discussed, contributed ideas and raised questions related to the LinkSME project’s activities so that project experts gave instructions and answers.

Through this training course, civil servants and employees of the Department were provided with information, specific orientation, regulations and processes involved in participation of the above project, thereby, improving efficiency in the process of supporting and developing products and services for businesses in the province./.
