Viet Nam – Japan investment cooperation economic forum in 2013

Opening speech at the conference, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tran Nam emphasized: Vietnam – Japan Economic Cooperation Investment Forum is one of the events in a series of activities celebrating 40 years of establishment of the diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan. This is a chance to look back on the good results of the Vietnam – Japan Economic Cooperation in general and the construction sector in particular. We can say, in 40 years ago, Japan is the country which has always been to provide the biggest source of ODA for Vietnam, the accumulated value at the moment is about 24 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for over 30 % of total aid commitments for Vietnam. Many key projects and Vietnam’s major transport infrastructure which has been done by Japanese ODA, such as Noi Bai station, Can Tho Bridge, Bai Chay, Nhat Tan, East-West Highway, highway of Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Day, Haiphong International Port project …, In addition to, Japan is also the national leader in the number of foreign investment in Vietnam, with nearly 2000 thousand projects, the total registered capital of over $ 33 billion . However, the relationship between the two countries is much untapped potential. Through the conference is also an opportunity for investors, project owners of two countries people to people exchange and seek new cooperation projects, towards the good results in the future.

Mr. Suzuki Hideo, the Japanese Ambassador Envoy in Vietnam said that: in this memorable anniversary year, the cooperation in the economic field, especially in the field of construction, real estate milestone. This will be certainly the sector which two countries to work together better investment in the future. Mr. Suzuki Hideo affirmed that the construction sector, Vietnam’s real estate in the difficult period but Vietnam’s economy has continued to progress, the demand for housing has great potential. Japanese ranked the first position for aid investment in Vietnam, but   In the field of construction, real estate is in the initial stage and promising. Currently, there are many Japanese enterprise are interested in investing in this sector. The events celebrates 40^th years of diplomatic relations will be an opportunity to further strengthen relations between the two countries in the field of construction and real estate.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman Phung Quang Hung stressed: The Japanese enterprise is one of the first foreign investors laid the foundation for the industry of the province. Currently, Japan is the investor and sponsor which have the largest in ODA capital for Vinh Phuc province. The province would high appreciate the contributions of Japanese enterprises for the socio economic development of the province. Development orientated in the future, Vinh Phuc province continues to select investors from Japan. The province has selected the Japanese consultant to advice and designs the master plan of Vinh Phuc metropolitan.

At the conference, delegates gathered to discuss a number of key topics such as Vietnam – Japan investment promotion in infrastructure development, real estate, construction and construction support industry. The delegates and enterprises who attend this conference would be able to seek for new opportunities through other activities of the program such as: visiting the exhibition to survey in industrial parks.
