The Prime Minister Matteo Renzi of Italy visited Piaggio Factory in Vietnam

In the framework of a working visit to Vietnam as the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung , on the morning of June 10,2014, Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy Matteo Renzi visited the Vietnam Piaggio manufacturer in Binh Xuyen Industrial Park. Mr. Phung Quang Hung, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council and leaders of Piaggio Group warmly welcomed to Mr. Matteo Renzi and its delegation.

Mr. Matteo Renzi and its delegation visited the Piaggio production line, talk to Group leaders and a number of workers of Vietnam Piaggio.  Impressed by the positive business results of Vietnam Piaggio, the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi expressed profound gratitude to the government and Vinh Phuc people has created favourable conditions for Italy businesses in general and Piaggio in particular operate effectively, to achieve increasingly high growth in production business.

Chairman of PPC Phung Quang Hung expressed appreciation of the Prime Minister Matteo Renri for Vinh Phuc province and He also desire Government, people and businesses Italy and more profound relationship, practical and  more effective for Vietnam in general and Vinh Phuc in particular.

Reportedly, Mr. Matteo Renzi is the first prime minister of Italy visit officially to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973. Relationship between Vietnam and Italy has good development in recent years. The two sides have set up strategic partnerships and through the action plan period 2013- 2014.So far, Italy ranks 29th out of 100 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with 53 projects, total investment capital are U.S.D 294.22 million.  Piaggio Company in particular has invested $ 70 million to build the two plants Vespa motorcycle manufacturer in Vinh Phuc (design capacity of 200,000 units / year) and motorcycle engines not only serve the Vietnam market , but also exported to Southeast Asian countries .

The visiting of Matteo Renzi Prime Minister of Italy to Vietnam, is an opportunity for both sides to discuss measures to promote strategic Partnership Vietnam – Italia in the fields of economy, trade and investment; strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture , education, science – techonology, energy, tourism as well as exchange and international issues of mutual interest areas .
