The delegation of Portland University, Oregon State of Units State has visited and worked in Vinh Phuc province

At the meeting, Mr. Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee had brief introduction on potential, comparative advantages and outstanding social economic achievements that Vinh Phuc province has obtained since re-establishment until now. After 17 year of re-established, from a poor agricultural province, Vinh Phuc has promoted industrial development to ongoing economic development at high speed shifting economic structure towards industrialization and modernization. In 2013 in the difficult conditions, Vinh Phuc province has strived to gain and exceed the targets of the year. Currently there were 13 countries and territory invested successfully in my province but there is no project from Units State. The province hope that through the delegation of Portland State University will spread the provincial investment environment policy to the US enterprises, and is the connecting bridge among Vinh Phuc province with government and investors of Oregon State. The investment attraction orientation of the province is not only industry sector but also focusing on attracting the US potential service projects, including the educational training services. Hopefully in the near future there will be more cooperative education program with the Portland State University on human resources development, especially in English language training for students, staffs, and officials working in the province.

Professor Marcus Ingle was high appreciated on rapid growth and the position of Vinh Phuc province today; the professor has exchanged and shared with the province in the biggest challenge of the province in the growing process, especially in the sustainable development. The members of the delegation have introduced on Portland State University; currently this University has plans to cooperate on staffs training for Organization Department of the Central Committee of Vietnam Party Committee. He hopes that the University will more attract a numbers of students in Vietnam in general and the Vinh Phuc province in particular to study. The delegation also informed on some operation of the State Oregon and Portland State University in Vietnam in coming time. Included the visiting of the Governor of the State Oregon in 2014. Through the meeting, two sites have more useful information and more mutual understanding.

In the afternoon, the delegation has visited some interest places in Vinh Phuc province and ending this visiting to Vietnam./.
