Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada in Vietnam visit and work in Vinh Phuc

In the afternoon September 18, 2014 at the Office of the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee, Mr. Phung Quang Hung – Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee has welcomed and worked with Mr. Devid Devince – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada in Vietnam and Mrs. Barbara Nadeau – Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy; joining the meeting including the leaderships of a number of departments and agencies: Foreign Affair, Planning and Investment, Commercial and Industry, Education and Training, Office of People’s Committee, Industrial zones and Management Boar, Vinh Phuc Investment Promotion Agency.

At the meeting, the Chairman Phung Quang Hung introduced the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada in Vietnam on the potential advantages and investment attractive policies of the province. Currently, Vinh Phuc province has attracted 167 FDI projects with the registered investment capital nearly $ 3 billion USD from 14 countries and territories. Vinh Phuc is continuing to call businesses from developed countries around the world including Canada which invested in areas such as industry, agriculture, tourism, health and education. The Chairman of provincial People’s Committee suggest Ambassador will be connecting bridge to introduce the business from Canada to explore business and investment in Vinh Phuc province and support Canadian ODA capital for investment and development in a number of areas which are difficult to find as health, climate change….

Mr. David Devine said that he would create the most favourable conditions for Canadian businesses to access investment opportunities in Vinh Phuc province in the near future. Canada had representative offices Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CANCHAM) in Ho Chi Minh City, it is convenient to access the Canadian businesses to promote investment and trade, currently Canada is supporting to Vietnam related projects to set up mechanical and development policies. This is the first time working in Vinh Phuc province, despite short meeting, getting highly effective, opening up many cooperation opportunities for both sides, paving cooperation development in various fields between Canadian Ambassador in Vietnam and Vinh Phuc province in the coming time.

By the end of the meeting Mr. Phung Quang Hung and Canadian Ambassador have agreed to have a meeting at the end of October 2014 for further discussion of the contents may be cooperation between the two sides, which explored the project to restructure the provincial agricultural sector and invested in services, tourism and entertainment project in this areas./.
