Activities connecting ecosystem, startups, innovation of Vinh Phuc in Singapore

Within the framework of Singapore Innovation Week – SWITCH 2022 (from October 25 to 28), on October 25 – 26, the innovation working group led by Mr. Pham Quang Nguyen, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, participated in a number of activities at the World Convention Center in Sentosa, Singapore.

SWITCH is organised by Enterprise Singapore and supported by the National Research Foundation.

This is an annual conference that connects with the global innovation community of innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, leaders and collaborators. The conference program includes the SLINGSHOT Startup Competition, Thought Leadership Conference, Market Access Sessions, Exhibition Showcase and Roundtable Sessions.

Previously, on October 24, the provincial investment promotion delegation led by Mr. Le Duy Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, visited and worked at the Block 71 Startup Center – NUS Enterprise, Singapore. Block 71 is an initiative of NUS Enterprise based on strategic cooperation with businesses and government agencies. Block 71 focuses on building an ecosystem based on technology platforms and a global connection system to gather the startup community.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Duy Thanh thanked the Block 71 – NUS Enterprise Startup Center for their warm and thoughtful reception. The Chairman said that the visit and work of the delegation this time aimed to promote the friendly cooperation between Vinh Phuc province and Block 71 – NUS Enterprise Startup Center.

Mr. Luong Van Long, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of TechFest Vinh Phuc 2022, invited the leadership of Block 71 Startup Center – NUS Enterprise, the Enterprise Support Center of the National University of Singapore and Singaporean startups and innovation businesses to Vinh Phuc to participate in the event this November.

On October 26, 2022, the delegation continued to visit and work at ST Engineering Group – one of the active cores in building an innovation ecosystem in Singapore and smart city solutions.

At the meeting, Mr. Pham Quang Nguyen – Vice Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Council shared: At the invitation of ST Engineering Group at the Vinh Phuc Investment Promotion Conference in Singapore on the morning of October 25, the delegation visited and wished to exchange and listen to the group’s sharing about technology and solutions for the fields that the group is implementing such as smart cities, digital transformation of the tourism industry, digital transformation of the education industry and the aerospace sector.

Representing ST Engineering Group, Mr. Lim Beng Leng – General Director in charge of foreign affairs expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Vinh Phuc province to visit and work. He also said that ST Engineering Group currently has a global network including subsidiaries and affiliated companies located in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US. Mr. Ong Ye Kung – Head of Digital Transformation in Education introduced to the Delegation the Elucid educational solution to promote effective self-study for students not only in Singapore but also around the world. ST Group wants to use this application to combine the power of the Internet and traditional education on the basis of building a system of questions related to the content learned in class. Parents can manage and monitor students’ learning ability as well as digitize exams and exam formats for convenient use; using AL to suggest appropriate learning methods to improve learning outcomes.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen – Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Phuc province hopes that the Group will research Vinh Phuc and pilot some software in the province before widely announcing it, so that students have the opportunity to experience the software in a more specific way./.
