The delegation of Vinh Phuc province to promote investment, trade and tourism visited and worked with the Malaysian Investment Development Agency – MIDA

On the afternoon of October 27, 2022, continuing within the working framework, the Vinh Phuc province investment, trade and tourism promotion delegation had a working session with the Malaysian Investment Development Agency – MIDA.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Duy Thanh – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Vinh Phuc province gave a speech introducing some main features of the natural, cultural, economic and social conditions of Vinh Phuc. Over the past time, the province has always strived to improve the investment and business environment to create attractiveness and attract investment. Currently, Vinh Phuc is ranked among the provinces with high rankings in the country in terms of Provincial Competitiveness Index. Vinh Phuc’s business environment is also highly appreciated for its transparency, healthiness and fairness. One of the province’s highlights is that throughout the process of construction and development, the leaders of Vinh Phuc province have always accompanied businesses, promptly removed difficulties and obstacles for businesses in production and business activities, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to develop as well as learn and invest in the province.

Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Sulaiman Mahbob – representative of the Director of MIDA Investment Development Agency introduced and shared experiences on: MIDA’s operating model, 12 offices in Malaysia and 21 representative offices worldwide; Organizing investment promotion activities and services to facilitate investors; MIDA continues to be a strategic partner of businesses in seizing opportunities from the technological revolution of today’s era.

The Malaysian Investment Promotion Agency also shared more about how to deploy and manage two main areas in the functions and tasks of this Center, which are managing support for FDI enterprises and supporting domestic enterprises. Based on the investment promotion documents of Vinh Phuc province, MIDA also introduced MRCB Group, specializing in deploying and constructing railways, trams and urban areas in Malaysia. Mr. Kwan JooN Hoe – Director of the MCRB Group’s Executive Team also shared and introduced the TOD (Transit Oriented Development) model, an urban development model associated with public transport, creating conditions for increasing population density, especially suitable for large cities like Vinh Phuc. The Group also hopes to have the opportunity to visit Vinh Phuc to learn about the investment environment and research related real estate and industrial park projects.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed information. Vinh Phuc province proposed cooperation with MIDA in supporting investors and developing supply chains in areas of mutual interest such as: automobiles, electricity and electronics, machinery and equipment, medical equipment, aerospace, renewable energy and consumer technology.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Le Duy Thanh thanked the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) for their welcome and information sharing. Through this, the goodwill and opportunities for long-term cooperation between the two sides were demonstrated. Vinh Phuc Province is looking forward to the leaders and representatives of MIDA visiting and working in Vinh Phuc in the near future./.
