Vinh Phuc province delegation visited and worked with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore

On October 26, the Vinh Phuc investment promotion delegation led by Mr. Le Duy Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, visited and worked at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore. This is the leading public school in Asia and the world for postgraduate training in the field of public policy.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Duy Thanh introduced basic information about the natural and socio-economic conditions of Vinh Phuc. The Chairman also expressed his desire to discuss and listen to the school’s sharing on the training of management leaders, especially on investment promotion, to have the most accurate assessments of the current situation of investment promotion management in Vinh Phuc, on that basis, to have orientations to improve the work of developing staff and building investment promotion policies of the province.

Representing the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Ms. Sheila Kwek – Deputy Director of the Executive Leadership Training Program expressed her pleasure to welcome the members of the Vinh Phuc delegation. She also said that the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is currently cooperating with world-famous universities and educational centers, and has successfully trained thousands of students from more than 90 countries around the world. With the desire to train policy makers in the public and private sectors, aiming at the prosperity and development of the country, the school is always ready to connect and cooperate with countries in training programs for officials as well as building public policies to serve state management.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Minh Khuong – Lecturer at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy shared: Vinh Phuc needs to make efforts and make great strides in the coming time in digital technology, data centers, renewable energy, and semiconductors to move up the value ladder. The province can also consider expanding twinning cooperation with developed provinces and cities with similar geographical locations in the world in Europe and America; establish advisory groups including businesses, private sector, and research experts to advise the province, and combine resources.

After listening to the experience sharing of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the delegation of Vinh Phuc province also requested the school to support the development of policies and orientations for innovation of the growth model; send experts to guide training for provincial officials to change the mindset of officials; invite school representatives to participate in economic and policy advisory groups; and cooperate with the school to develop training programs for officials for the province.
